Fitting kitchens across Fakenham and the villages around it

At about 32 miles north of Brandon, Fakenham is close to as far out as we go. Swaffham, Watton and Downham Market are all closer to us than Fakenham, which sits at the outer end of the area we cover, so it comes down to the size of the job rather than the postcode.

Fakenham falls under North Norfolk District Council. That matters as soon as a project involves a structural alteration or anything outside the existing footprint, because the application and the inspections go through them. We build to what has been approved and work to the inspection stages on the programme.

Fakenham has a Georgian market place with brick and flint property and modern development beyond it. Kitchen fitting is shaped by that more than by anything we bring to it. That is what decides how much of a job is straightforward and how much is patient work against what is actually there. We price from the property, never from a template.

At roughly 32 miles it is outside our core area, so it depends on the size of the job. For a full kitchen fit the travel is usually worth it for both of us. For a small one day job it honestly is not, and we would rather tell you that than quote a price that reflects the driving.

Plots in Fakenham are typical market town plots, tight through the centre. It is mostly a practical point for inside work: where materials are unloaded and where a cutting station can be set up out of the way.

Brick and flint walls are rarely flat, and there are a lot of them here. Inside the house that rarely stops anything, but it is worth knowing about when the work touches a wall, a floor or anything structural.

That is the council's decision rather than ours, and it turns on the property and the exact work. A listed house, or a job that moves a structural wall, is where it is most worth asking before anything is booked. The council to ask in Fakenham is North Norfolk District Council, and we can point you at the right department once we have seen the job.

Yes. The nearest other towns on our list to Fakenham are Swaffham, Watton, Downham Market, Attleborough and Thetford Forest, and the villages in between are covered as well. Each of those has its own page for kitchen fitting, linked further down this page.

Yes. It most often runs alongside second fix carpentry, extension work and renovation work, and because one team does the carpentry throughout there is no gap between trades. At about 32 miles from our base, putting the work into one programme also means one run of travel instead of several.

Call 07539 278705 or send the enquiry form with a line about the job. At roughly 32 miles away we will talk the job through by phone first, so neither of us makes a wasted trip. The quote costs nothing.
