Hanging doors and fitting joinery in Ely

Ely sits about 18 miles west of Brandon, well inside our core area. Soham, March and Downham Market are the same sort of distance from us, which puts this corner of Cambridgeshire well inside the area we cover.

Ely falls under East Cambridgeshire District Council. They are who the application goes to and who signs the work off, so it is worth knowing before a design is fixed. We build to what has been approved and work to the inspection stages on the programme.

The pattern here is consistent. Ely has a historic centre of genuinely good period property, ringed by Victorian terraces and modern housing. Second fix carpentry has to suit it. It is the difference between a job that runs to plan and one that needs scribing to every surface. We price from the property, never from a template.

At about 18 miles from our base, getting out to measure up is straightforward rather than something we have to schedule weeks ahead. Call or send the enquiry form and we will arrange a time that suits you. The quote costs nothing.

Plots in the centre of Ely are constrained, while the modern development is a good deal more open. It is mostly a practical point for inside work: where materials are unloaded and where a cutting station can be set up out of the way.

Ely carries extensive conservation coverage and a great many listed buildings. For fitted work it is usually background, and it becomes relevant the moment a wall is moving or a floor is being lifted.

That is the council's decision rather than ours, and it turns on the property and the exact work. A listed house, or a job that moves a structural wall, is where it is most worth asking before anything is booked. In Ely that means East Cambridgeshire District Council. If there is any doubt we would rather you check with them before work is booked than after.

Yes. The nearest other towns on our list to Ely are Soham, March, Downham Market, Lakenheath and Newmarket, and the villages in between are covered as well. If you are not sure which counts as nearest, give us the village or postcode on the enquiry form.

Yes. It most often runs alongside first fix carpentry, fitted wardrobe work and renovation work, and because one team does the carpentry throughout there is no gap between trades. At about 18 miles from our base, putting the work into one programme also means one run of travel instead of several.

Call 07539 278705 or send the enquiry form with a line about the job. At roughly 18 miles away, a visit to measure up fits easily into a normal week. The quote costs nothing.
