Stowmarket kitchen installation, start to finish

Stowmarket is roughly 28 miles south east of Brandon, right at the limit of our range. It is a longer trip than Bury St Edmunds and Diss, and we do make it, for a project that justifies the travel rather than for an hour's work.

Stowmarket falls under Mid Suffolk District Council. They are who the application goes to and who signs the work off, so it is worth knowing before a design is fixed. We build to what has been approved and work to the inspection stages on the programme.

Stowmarket has a market town centre of Victorian and period property with considerable modern development around it. Kitchen fitting is shaped by that more than by anything we bring to it. Two houses on the same street can differ on this, so a number quoted down the phone is a guess. We price from the property, never from a template.

At roughly 28 miles it is outside our core area, so it depends on the size of the job. For a full kitchen fit the travel is usually worth it for both of us. For a small one day job it honestly is not, and we would rather tell you that than quote a price that reflects the driving.

Plots in Stowmarket are mostly modern estate plots around an older centre. For work inside the house the plot matters less than it does for building work, but it still decides where the van, the deliveries and any skip can go.

Stowmarket is at the outer edge of where we travel, so the job has to justify the distance. For fitted work it is usually background, and it becomes relevant the moment a wall is moving or a floor is being lifted.

That is the council's decision rather than ours, and it turns on the property and the exact work. A listed house, or a job that moves a structural wall, is where it is most worth asking before anything is booked. In Stowmarket that means Mid Suffolk District Council. If there is any doubt we would rather you check with them before work is booked than after.

Yes. The nearest other towns on our list to Stowmarket are Bury St Edmunds, Diss, Haverhill, Newmarket and Thetford, and the villages in between are covered as well. If your address sits between two of them, tell us the village and we will tell you straight away whether it works.

Yes. It most often runs alongside second fix carpentry, extension work and renovation work, and because one team does the carpentry throughout there is no gap between trades. At about 28 miles from our base, putting the work into one programme also means one run of travel instead of several.

Call 07539 278705 or send the enquiry form with a line about the job. At roughly 28 miles away we will talk the job through by phone first, so neither of us makes a wasted trip. The quote costs nothing.
