Kitchen fitting in Wymondham, done by carpenters

At about 27 miles east north east of Brandon, Wymondham is close to as far out as we go. Attleborough, Long Stratton and Diss are all closer to us than Wymondham, which sits at the outer end of the area we cover, so it comes down to the size of the job rather than the postcode.

Wymondham falls under South Norfolk Council. They are who the application goes to and who signs the work off, so it is worth knowing before a design is fixed. We build to what has been approved and work to the inspection stages on the programme.

Wymondham has a period centre of timber framed and Georgian property, with substantial modern development beyond. That is the starting point, not the detail. That is what decides how much of a job is straightforward and how much is patient work against what is actually there. We price from the property, never from a template.

At roughly 27 miles it is outside our core area, so it depends on the size of the job. For a full kitchen fit the travel is usually worth it for both of us. For a small one day job it honestly is not, and we would rather tell you that than quote a price that reflects the driving.

Plots are tight through the centre of Wymondham and more open on the newer edges. It is mostly a practical point for inside work: where materials are unloaded and where a cutting station can be set up out of the way.

The period centre and the abbey setting bring their own constraints here. For fitted work it is usually background, and it becomes relevant the moment a wall is moving or a floor is being lifted.

That is the council's decision rather than ours, and it turns on the property and the exact work. A listed house, or a job that moves a structural wall, is where it is most worth asking before anything is booked. The council to ask in Wymondham is South Norfolk Council, and we can point you at the right department once we have seen the job.

Yes. The nearest other towns on our list to Wymondham are Attleborough, Long Stratton, Diss, Watton and Thetford, and the villages in between are covered as well. If your address sits between two of them, tell us the village and we will tell you straight away whether it works.

Yes. It most often runs alongside second fix carpentry, extension work and renovation work, and because one team does the carpentry throughout there is no gap between trades. At about 27 miles from our base, putting the work into one programme also means one run of travel instead of several.

Call 07539 278705 or send the enquiry form with a line about the job. At roughly 27 miles away we will talk the job through by phone first, so neither of us makes a wasted trip. The quote costs nothing.
